Something Amidst Nothing

Sometimes flowers grow in autumn,

Although it’s rare and strange

For something so beautiful

To develop during a time when

Everything is falling around us,

It’s still possible to find

Something amidst nothing.

So instead,

We light a candle in a lantern

Of our hopelessness

And find a pathway

Out of the dark.
