Something Amidst Nothing

Sometimes flowers grow in autumn,
Although it’s rare and strange
For something so beautiful
To develop during a time when
Everything is falling around us,
It’s still possible to find
Something amidst nothing.
So instead,
We light a candle in a lantern
Of our hopelessness
And find a pathway
Out of the dark.
