Christopher Poindexter

The first poem I ever read by Christopher Poindexter was:

"I watched a girl in a sundress kiss another girl on a park bench, and just as the sunlight spilled perfectly onto both of their hair, I thought to myself:
“How bravely beautiful it is, that sometimes, the sea wants the city, even when it has been told its entire life it was meant for the shore.”

And for the first time, I felt the pressure release from my chest, as I had found someone who had finally put my feelings about my conflictions of sexuality into words.
His poems have not only helped me overcome many tough times, but also inspired me to pursue my writing.
He is my favourite poet and a massive inspiration to me. Here are a few of his poems, I hope they can help you as much as they have me.
