Maybe We're All Stars

When I was a little girl,

I learnt that people change like seasons.

Some days,

They can fill your stomach

With nervous butterflies,

Blooming faster than

The sunflowers in Spring.

Other days,

They can leave you lonely,

Filling your heart with snow,

Colder than the strong breeze,

On a Winter night.

I learnt that some people fall,

Harder than the leaves in Autumn,

And some don’t at all.

I learnt that some people,

Can drain energy out of you,

Like the way the sun

Takes water from the oceans,

On sweltering, summer days.

I learnt that being alone,

Doesn’t necessarily mean you’re lonely,

I imagine people as

The breathtaking stars

We gaze at every night,

They’re all different,

All unique,

All shapes and sizes,

All feeling slightly alone,

Yet every night,

They have a whole world of people,

Staring at their beauty.

Maybe we’re a lot like that,

We’re different,

We’re unique,

We’re all shapes and sizes,

We’re afraid of being alone,

But one day,

You find someone,

Who overwhelms you with butterflies,

Warms your heart like cocoa,

When you’re feeling colder than snow,

Who falls for you,

Harder than the leaves in March,

Who drains nothing,

But sadness away from you.

Someone who loves that,

You’re different,

You’re unique,

You’re size and shape,

And makes you feel,

Like you’ll never be lonely again.

Maybe we’re all stars,

Waiting for that one person,

To look up at us,

And despite all the others,

They pick you.

They always pick you.

Music Monday's:

This is an original song I wrote for 2 people very close to me. It's called Home, I hope you like it! xx

Fangirl Friday's:

This week's Fangirl Friday video goes to Nathan Grisdale. His lyrics are honestly so lovely and his voice is golden. This is one of his new songs, which I have fallen in love with. It's called "Heartbreak Avenue"
